Nature’s Filler
If you’re seeking a natural solution to fine lines, wrinkles, or hollow areas, PRP injections may be your answer. At West Empire Aesthetics in Los Angeles, we offer PRP injections, a treatment that harnesses your body's own platelet-rich plasma to rejuvenate your skin naturally. Contact us today to schedule a consultation and begin your journey to a more youthful, radiant appearance.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections are renowned for their rejuvenating properties. The procedure involves drawing a small amount of blood, which is then processed to concentrate the platelets. These platelets, rich in growth factors, are injected into targeted areas to enhance volume and stimulate collagen and elastin production, resulting in smoother, younger-looking skin.
During your consultation, we will discuss the benefits of PRP injections and address any questions you may have. Please inform us of any medical conditions, particularly those related to the circulatory system or blood disorders. Discontinue any anti-inflammatory or blood-thinning medications five days before the procedure and avoid steroids for one month prior.
The PRP injection process takes about one hour. Blood is drawn and centrifuged to separate the platelet-rich plasma, which is then injected into the skin or scalp using fine needles. A topical anesthetic can be applied to minimize discomfort. The PRP stimulates the body’s natural healing processes, enhancing skin texture and volume or promoting hair growth.
PRP injections stimulate collagen production, with optimal results visible in about three months. A series of two to three treatments spaced six to eight weeks apart is recommended for the best outcome. Maintenance treatments can be done yearly. For hair restoration, improvements may be seen in two to four weeks, with full results taking three to six months.
PRP injections are safe, utilizing your body's own plasma, which minimizes the risk of rejection or infection. Some bruising and swelling may occur but typically subsides within a week. Apply ice packs to reduce swelling and avoid smoking and alcohol for three to five days post-treatment. For hair treatments, refrain from using hair products for at least six hours and avoid saunas, tanning, and steam rooms for two days.
Most commonly, PRP is used on the face but can also be applied to other body areas.
It is recommended to wait until after childbirth to receive PRP injections.
